San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Communicable Disease Specialist I  to serve as Case Investigation/Contact Tracers. These positions will assist the Southwest Epidemiologist(s), perform case and contact investigations, update data tracking systems regularly, provide recommendations to Southwest Regional Epidemiologist(s), and facilitate and participate in public health planning, training, and exercises. Employees will be devoted to developing, sustaining, and improving upon public health surveillance and epidemiological investigation systems and processes at the local level in Colorado, as well as providing support in the development of a collaborative statewide network providing emergency preparedness and response assistance. Qualifications for these positions are an Associate’s degree and two years of healthcare, public health or related experience.  Bachelor’s degree is preferred. The hiring range for these positions are $17.80 to $25.81 an hour.

Communicable Disease Specialist I

Job Description

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring an Environmental Health Specialist II to assist workplaces, community organizations and special events with infection control and exposure reduction measures for COVID-19 and other communicable diseases. Tasks may include reviewing plans and other applications; conducting inspections and educational site visits; writing reports and documenting activities; applying legal orders and regulations; investigating complaints; determining areas of non-compliance; recommending a course of action; assisting in the resolution of issues; and assisting or leading epidemiological investigations. Members of the environmental health team work closely with team members as well as independently on projects to protect public health and the environment on behalf of San Juan Basin Public Health.  A bachelor’s degree in a physical, biological, sanitary, environmental, or health science, and one year of related experience is preferred. An individual with strong communication skills and experience working with the business community would be highly successful in this position. An equivalent combination of education and experience is sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Environmental Health Specialist II

Job Description

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a full time Health Coverage Guide (HCG) for the Health Insurance Literacy program. The goal of the program is to increase access, affordability and choice for individuals in need of health insurance. The HCG provides individuals and families with education about public health insurance programs, primarily Connect for Health Colorado, but also including Medicaid and CHP+. This position assists customers with health insurance enrollment, post-enrollment issues, and problem resolution. Customer contact is by phone, in person, and virtual meetings, as appropriate. The position is also responsible for outreach to the community, community partners, and targeted populations. Outreach includes earned and paid media campaigns, public presentations, social media posts, and other creative strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience with public health insurance programs, customer service, and outreach or program promotion.  An Associate’s degree and two years of healthcare, public health or related experience is required.  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  This position is scheduled to close August 14, 2020, or until an adequate pool is reached.  The hiring range for this position is $17.80 to $21.81 an hour. San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Finance Assistant/Payroll Technician to work with our Finance and Human Resource Departments. This position will be responsible for processing SJBPH payroll, creating and maintaining payroll files, and answering employee questions related to time clock and payroll related questions. This position will also assist with benefit administration, compiling back up documentation and billing and invoices to State and Federal funders.  This position is scheduled to close August 10, 2020, or until an adequate pool is reached.  The hiring range for this position is $16.36 to $20.04 an hour. Finance Assistant/Payroll Technician

Job Description

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Substance Use Prevention Coordinator.  The position is responsible for performing community-wide outreach and program promotion in support of contracts.  Successful applicants will have experience in organizing community members involvement in local public health initiatives;  collaborating with partners and stakeholders to provide timely education and communication regarding program initiatives; providing trainings and technical assistance to community stakeholders to build their capacity to engage in initiatives;  supporting required monthly reporting and program evaluation for funders and internal needs;  utilizing data collection tools and methodologies for program analysis; evaluation and monitoring program data and risk indicators to assess conditions; and assisting in writing grant proposals, concept papers and other materials to obtain funding.  This position requires an Associates degree and two years of healthcare, public health or related experience.  A bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience with youth substance use prevention and/or tobacco use prevention is preferred.  This position is scheduled to close 7/17/2020, or until an adequate pool is reached.  The hiring range for this position is $17.80 to $25.21.  New hires are typically made at or near the minimum of the hiring range; the full wage range is included on the job description.

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring an Environmental Health Specialist I to perform inspections and investigations in one or more areas of food safety, childcare facilities, schools, public swimming pools, hazardous and solid waste, zoonoses, communicable disease and other related areas. Incumbents, as assigned, conduct compliance inspections; review applications, plans and designs; write reports and document activities; investigate complaints; determine areas of non-compliance; recommend a course of action; assist in the resolution of issues; conduct sampling; and assist in epidemiological and zoonotic investigations. Members of the environmental health team work closely with community partners and the public to protect public health and the environment on behalf of San Juan Basin Public Health.  A bachelor’s degree in a physical, biological, sanitary, environmental or health science and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
