COVID-19 Testing
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms, test immediately.
- If you were exposed to COVID-19 and do not have symptoms, wait at least 5 full days after your exposure before testing. If you test too early, you may be more likely to get an inaccurate result.
- If you test positive, see the CDC's Isolation and Precautions for People with COVID-19.

Older adults and people with disabilities who need support ordering the free at-home tests can contact the Eldercare Locator (800-677-1116) or the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL, 888-677-1199).
Check the most updated expiration date of your at-home test kits. In some cases, the expiration date for at-home test may be extended. An extended expiration date means the manufacturer provided data showing that the shelf-life is longer than was known when the test was first authorized.
