San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Communicable Disease Specialist I  to serve as Case Investigation/Contact Tracers. These positions will assist the Southwest Epidemiologist(s), perform case and contact investigations, update data tracking systems regularly, provide recommendations to Southwest Regional Epidemiologist(s), and facilitate and participate in public health planning, training, and exercises. Employees will be devoted to developing, sustaining, and improving upon public health surveillance and epidemiological investigation systems and processes at the local level in Colorado, as well as providing support in the development of a collaborative statewide network providing emergency preparedness and response assistance. Communicable Disease Specialist I

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring for a Communicable Disease Specialist II. This person will assist with the planning, operating or coordinating of Points of Distribution (PODs) for communicable disease testing and flu/COVID-19 vaccination in cooperation with local healthcare partners; prepare, manage and train potential volunteers; obtain, manage and distribute supplies as required; prepare ongoing documentation and reports; assists the ESF8 lead during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations; and work collaboratively to resolve problems within established standards and guidelines. Incumbents may act as a lead worker assigning and reviewing work activities, providing input into performance evaluation and acting as a resource for other staff.  The hiring range for this position is $19.24 to $23.57 an hour.  New hires are typically made at or near the minimum of the hiring range; the full wage range is included on the job description.

Communicable Disease Specialist II

Job Description

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Communications & Digital Media Manager. This position is dedicated to providing strategic, time-critical communications responsibilities and materials for SJBPH. Incumbents, as assigned, provides program staff support by developing and implementing a strategic communications and digital media plan to grow awareness and engagement in ongoing SJBPH programs. Supervises staff, oversees program budget and expenditures and develops and oversees paid digital marketing campaigns. Collaborates with and reports to the Communications Director. The Qualifications for this position are basic marketing, social media, and communications principles and practices and basic concepts and methods of project management. Skilled in social media and website development and management, development of digital media strategy, and social media/website tracking and analytics. San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring an Environmental Health Specialist III to lead inspections, permitting and investigations in one or more areas of food safety, water and air quality, childcare facilities, and COVID-19 mitigation. Employees at this level demonstrate leadership qualities and may supervise a small number of staff on a project or ongoing basis, take a lead role in complex issues, and participate in compliance and enforcement hearings and formal actions. Environmental Health Specialist III

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a Communications Director to oversee all Communications functions for the organization.  The Communications Director is responsible for the management of the Communications division’s goals, budget, staff, policies, procedures and legal compliance. The incumbent will establish and implement the annual strategic health communication and marketing plan with an emphasis on building the SJBPH brand. The Communications Director serves as the Lead Public Information Officer and responds to Colorado Open Records Act requests.  In addition, the incumbent crafts and distributes both internal and external communications messages, including public service announcements, media releases, newsletters, presentations and the agency’s Annual Report. The Communications Director collaborates with community partners on common external communications messages. Communications Director

San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring a full time Suicide Prevention Coordinator as part of the Colorado-National-Collaborative (CNC) project.   The position is responsible for performing community-wide outreach and program promotion.  Successful applicants will have experience in organizing and directly facilitating diverse groups of community members involvement in local public health initiatives such as suicide prevention or other behavioral health needs.  This position collaborates with a diverse set of formal partners and community stakeholders to provide education and communication regarding Thriving Communities program initiatives; provides trainings and technical assistance to build their capacity to engage equitably in public health initiatives; supports required monthly reporting and program evaluation for funders and internal needs using data collection tools and methodologies, and assists in writing grant proposals, concept papers and other materials to obtain funding.  An Associate’s degree and two years of healthcare, public health or related experience in behavioral health education are required.  A bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience with community behavioral health prevention services is preferred.  Benefits for exempt employees and non-exempt employees, 80% or more, are Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, Employee Assistance Program, Wellness Program, Paid Time Off, Retirement Plan, Life Insurance and Supplemental Insurance.  This position is scheduled to close 03/19/2021, or until an adequate pool is reached.
